Intersect
In hosting an Intersect meeting under the auspice of Ms. Sally Fisher, the Founder Chairperson of Intersect Worldwide, on September 21 to 22, 2004 GBS played a vital role in the formation of Rajasthan Intersect Coalition. The meeting, in which 58 delegates of 27 NGOs/CBOs from 13 districts of Rajasthan participated, was a very successful event in the direction of prevention of HIV/AIDS and violence against women and girls in the state. Bhawani Shanker Kusum, Secretary GBS, was elected coordinator of Rajasthan Intersect Coalition.

Presently Intersect Coalitions have been formed in 14 states of India including Gujarat , Bihar , Orissa and whole of the NE region.

(GYCA)
In 2004 GBS was nominated as member of the core group for the Regional Focal Point for South Asia of the Global Youth Coaltion on HIV/AIDS (GYCA). The purpose of this coalition of close to 400 youths representing 48 countries and diverse youth organizations around the world is to develop and carry out a concrete strategy to empower young people in becoming engaged in the International AIDS Conferences and all-related HIV/AIDS policy processes. GYCA was initially proposed by youth attendees of the XV International AIDS Conference in Bangkok and the XIV International AIDS conference in Barcelona, and has now expanded to include youth from other networks as well, including youth assoicated with UN programs.

GBS has started to involve the local NGOs working or willing to work on HIV/AIDS to initiate a wide spread campaign to involve the youth of Rajasthan to fight the pandemic in the state.

ActALIVE
stands for "Arts for Creative Transformation: Activism, Lifeline, Inspiration, Vision, Education"
and is an arts coalition founded by Janet Feldman, Director of KAIPPG/International, the international wing of a Kenyan HIV/AIDS NGO. It is composed of groups and individuals who use the arts and media to address HIV/AIDS and other human-development challenges. The coalition has 300 members in 25 countries, and welcomes anyone who has a like-minded approach to prevention, education, and amelioration activities. It aims at collaborations with a wide range of organizations and in a variety of art forms to build networks of creativity, inspiration, hope, and healing.

GBS is associated wit ACTalive since 2003 in number of arts projects addressing HIV/AIDS. http://www.actalive.org/


RIOD
The RIOD network was established, in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso, in November 1994, by some 50 NGOs from all over the world, as a "facilitating structure" aimed at enabling "CBOs and NGOs to share information and to coordinate their actions globally in the fight against desertification". Its overall goal was to put in place a structure that would ensure that community based organizations and NGOs are fully involved in the preparation, implementation and review of national action programmes, in compliance with provisions of the Convention to Combat Desertification (CCD).

RIOD-India is a National Network of NGOs of India working on drought and desertification formed in a meeting of Indian NGOs and was registered on May 21, 1996. Bhawani Shanker Kusum, Secretary, GBS, was elected unanimously as vice Chairman of RIOD-India.

Later in a state level conference of NGOs held in Jaipur and inaugurated by Mr. B.R. Bhagat, the then honourable Governor of Rajasthan, GBS was nominated as State Nodal Agency of RIOD India and Kusum Jain, Joint Secretary, GBS, elected as secretary of its state chapter.


AIESEC
In June 2004 GBS entered into an agreement with AIESEC for making partnerships on internships with trainees from overseas. An international network of over 25,000 students in 89 countries worldwide AIESEC is a non political, non-profit and independent largest students orgainzation in the world. It was established in India in 1981.
A major component of AIESEC activities is global intership programme facilitating an intense intercultural and practical experience in another society, exposing the trainees and those they meet to an entirely different culture, community and its issues.

Up to the present there have been seven trainees at GBS working on its women's empowerment, HIV/AIDS and Environment projects. http://www.aiesec.org/
