General Council
The GBS General Council consists of 370 members spread out around India. It meets on an annual basis and elects a 30 member Executive Committee once every three years. Its main functions are to:

 
  • Evaluate the past year's projects and plan for the coming year
  • Evaluate the annual report and expenditure statements as well as evaluating the budget for the coming year
  • Elect the President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Joint Secretary on a tri-yearly basis
  • Approve the proposals, resolutions and amendments put forward by the

Executive Committee
The 30 member Executive Committee consists of five primary office bearers - the President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Joint Secretary are elected by the General Council once every three years. It meets on a quarterly basis and its main functions are to:

 
  • Consider applications for GBS membership
  • Oversee the running of GBS sub-committees
  • Recruit and dismiss GBS personnel
  • Propose amendments to the GBS constitution
  • Develop and implement GBS' programs and activities
  • Fund raises and accepts grants
  • Oversee the GBS bank account


Management, paid staff and volunteers
GBS is jointly managed and administered by the Secretary & Executive Director and Joint Secretary, with the help of GBS staff. In addition, GBS work is made possible through the dedicated work of some 150 volunteers spread throughout Rajasthan who deliver their services for the projects implemented by GBS in their areas.


Policy of Non-Discrimination
GBS maintains a policy of non-discrimination and will not be prejudiced by race, caste, gender or religious belief. In particular, GBS has a strong emphasis on gender equality, with a minimum third of its Executive Committee consisting of women. In addition, GBS is also involved in a range of projects designed to empower the women.
